{"id":13367,"date":"2023-05-06T02:22:51","date_gmt":"2023-05-06T06:22:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/info\/?post_type=knowledgebase&#038;p=13367"},"modified":"2023-05-07T23:17:42","modified_gmt":"2023-05-08T03:17:42","slug":"how-to-publish-android-apps-with-android-studio","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/info\/knowledgebase\/how-to\/how-to-publish-android-apps-with-android-studio\/","title":{"rendered":"How to publish Android apps with Android Studio?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setting up Android Studio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Download the last version of Android Studio: <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.android.com\/sdk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">click here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then install Android Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose Standard:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_01.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_01.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_01\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select this setting (\u201cI do not have a previous version of Studio or I do not want to import my settings\u201d):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_02.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_02.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_02\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to create an APK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login in BuzApps.net App Design.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Manage<\/strong>&#8221; on the appropriate app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While in the Editor, click the &#8220;<strong>Publication<\/strong>&#8221; tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Download<\/strong>&#8221; next to the text &#8220;<strong>Android Version<\/strong>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And unzip the downloaded file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then go back to the main menu of Android Studio:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_03.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_03.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_03\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on \u201cImport Project\u201d. You will see a warning message, don\u2019t worry about that it is the normal process, click on Ok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then choose the Android Source folder you have unzipped, and click on \u201cimport\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When your project is imported, from the left menu, click on your folder \u201candroid_source\u201d and open the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the main menu click on Build &amp;gt;Generate Signed APK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, click next and you get this screen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_04.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_04.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_04\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okay, so you have chosen \u201cCreate new\u201d. Now we suppose that you are someone very organized (if not already, take a look to the <a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/dwkb\/publish-ios-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article about iOS publication<\/a> and organize your folders the same way), and thus that you have already create a folder for your app publication on your computer. Before having downloaded the android sources file, you have created a folder on your computer named \u201cMy Awesome App\u201d, for instance, with two subfolders: one for the graphic items, like screenshots of this app, and one for the certificates which will be named \u201ccertificate\u201d. Thus, on your computer we have a folder named \u201cMy Awesome App\u201d with the subfolder \u201ccertificate\u201d and the other subfolder \u201cgraphics\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okay now let\u2019s go back to Android Studio. You have clicked on \u201cCreate new\u201d, and you get this screen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_05.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_05.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_05\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now click on the button to browse in your computer folder and go to the \u201ccertificate\u201d folder, in the main folder \u201cMy Awesome App\u201d, and below in the \u201cFile name\u201d field, enter \u201ccertificate\u201d, and click ok:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_06.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_06.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_06\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enter a password for the Key Store, enter an alias name (the name of the app is OK), and a password the Key Alias, set the validity period to 99 years, and enter the name of the app owner.&nbsp;Then click Ok:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_07.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_07.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_07\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summary screen click next :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_08.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_08.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_08\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Then in the next screen, choose \u201crelease\u201d for \u201cBuild Type\u201d and then click on Finish. Your APK is built.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Android Studio 2.0 you can encounter the error \u201cError:\u2019com.android.build.gradle.BasePlugin\u2019 does not implement the Plugin interface.\u201d. To fix this problem, just go in the menu of Android Studio in&nbsp;File &amp;gt; settings &amp;gt; build execution deployment &amp;gt; build tools &amp;gt; gradle, and then check the option \u201cUse default gradle wrapper\u201d like in the image below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_09.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buzapps.net\/pages\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/knowledgebase_publish_android_09.png\" alt=\"knowledgebase_publish_android_09\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To fill out the app sheet on Google Play<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Store Listing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Store Listing page, fill out the two descriptions with the description that are in the App details page in the backend of your Commercial Edition. In the Graphic Asset section, the mandatory elements are a 512\u00d7512 icon, at least 2 screenshots whatever if it is for tablets or phones (you can use the ones you have generated for the iPhone version (use ones created for iPhone 5 or iPads), and a 1024x500px image that will illustrate the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, in the Categorization section, choose \u201cApplication\u201d for Application Type. Then select the appropriate category for this app, and then sleect a content rating for this app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">APK<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on \u201cUpload your first APK to production\u201d and upload the APK that has been created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Go in Pricing &amp;amp; Distribution<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select if it\u2019s a paid or free app. It can be a paid only if the developer account has enabled Google Merchant Services. Then select all the countries or just specific one(s). Then scroll down and check \u201cContent guidelines\u201d and \u201cUS export laws\u201d. And Save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Publish<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the upper right corner click on \u201cDraft\u201d and select \u201cPublish\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voila!
