I’m very happ to announce that BuzApps.net – and by extension our app customers – is GDPR compliant.
In short, the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, is the new regulation in European law regarding data protection and privacy for individuals within the European Union. Even though it is related to the European Union citizens, it is a regulation that is followed by other countries (and nation states) outside the EU.
The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. When the GDPR takes effect, it will replace the 1995 Data Protection Directive (Directive 95/46/EC). It was adopted on April 27, 2016. It becomes enforceable from May 25, 2018, after a two-year transition period.
